Cycling in a Beautiful Area
Judith and Jochum chose the Pyrenees village of Perrarua (Huesca province) as the basis for their company Chill Outdoor. They offer a wide variety of activities, including cycling and mountain biking. There are many possibilities for all levels of cyclists – you can hit the road individually, or choose to have a guided tour; you can attempt the more challenging mountain climbs, or stick to the flatter foothills.
Chill Outdoor has five attractive accommodations and a charming centrally located Chill Outdoor Café with a terrace, tapas, and cold draft beer. Judith and Jochum serve an excellent three-course Spanish dinner in the evening and a generous breakfast buffet is available every morning.
This part of the Pyrenees offers excellent opportunities for road biking. Smooth asphalt, virtually no traffic, many hours of dry, sunny, weather, and of course, many different routes. Because Chill Outdoors is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees you can choose between relaxing rides through the lower elevations, or opt for tough mountain climbs up to 1900 meters in elevation (including a former climb trial from the Vuelta). Most routes are between 70 and 130 kilometers per day, but the routes can also be shortened or combined on request. Renting a road bike is possible, but keep in mind that the number of bikes with “Dutch sizes” is limited. Bringing your own bike and gear is therefore recommended.
There is always an English speaking host present who can tell you everything about the area and the available routes. There are also GPX tracks available for all routes.
