Guided road bike tours on Lanzarote

Written by Cycling Spain

You can easily rent a bike and cycle Lanzarote on your own. However, it is nicer to go cycling with a group with a knowledgeable guide. One advantage is, of course, the social aspect, but another advantage not to be underestimated in Lanzarote is the fact that you are out of the wind. Along the way, you enjoy coffee and apple pie, conversation with fellow cyclists, and the support of one another during the more difficult parts of the ride.

Bike Sensations, an up and coming company owned by Dutchman Johan Wagenaar, organizes these types of guided tours of the island six times a week. You can choose between various distances; the longer the distance, the more challenging the ride. The longest route is 180 kilometers, which is the same as the extremely challenging Iron-Man triathlon.

Training on Lanzarote

Johan often guides the group himself. He knows all the roads, the climbs, and the nicest terraces on Lanzarote. He is also an experienced cyclist who can quickly assess the level of a group and what the possibilities are in regards to making sure everyone has the best day possible. He will also give you tips on your posture, pedaling frequency, etc. if you are looking to develop cycling skills.

Are you partial mountain biking? Bike Sensations also organizes two guided mountain bike tours a week.

Ask Bike Sensations about their tour schedule. These tours always leave from Puerto del Carmen (where you can also rent a bike at Bike Sensations). Contact details can be found below:
