- High quality and safe city bikes
- Rental location in the center of Madrid
- Modest rental rates
- Helmets and other accessories available
In the center of Madrid, you can rent an excellent city bike for a small fee with enough gears to hand the few nasty hills. Cycling in Madrid is not as obvious as in Valencia, Barcelona, or Sevilla, but it is slowly moving in the right direction. A few years ago Madrid introduced an electric bike-sharing system that has made biking a more attractive option for transport through the city. These bikes are also available for tourists, but we would recommend renting a bike through Bajabikes.
You can find Bajabikes on a quiet street in the center of Madrid, between the Gran Via and the Calle Alcala. There is a large collection of well-maintained, sturdy, and safe city bikes from the German brand Kalkhoff. Cycling Spain tested the bikes themselves and had a positive experience. Electric bikes are also available.
As stated previously, the prices are very modest and you can rent a bike for a few hours for only about 8 euros.
