ROAD AND MTB RACING IN SOUTHERN SPAIN
Racing in another country is an exciting prospect. When that country
is Spain, it’s even more attractive not to mention warmer! Andalucia
has a full racing calendar for road and MTB running from February to
November. We organise all you race requirements such as entry, transfer,
race support,
translation, bottling and feeding while you focus on the race.
Weekend Packages
International Bikes 51 weekend race packages are run over a 4 day weekend.
A typical weekend starts on Thursday when you fly into Malaga Airport,
Friday is spent training and acclimatising, on Saturday there is
a short training ride and an evening race meeting and then the actual
race on Sunday.
You can then either fly back late on Sunday night or on Monday. Insert

Training Camp or Cycling Holiday Week Race Package
The most popular and relaxed way to race in Spain is to attend either
a training week or cycling holiday and race on the weekend dates
of your stay. We will post the dates of the races on the ´Dates And Prices’ page
when the Andalucian Cycling Federation release the 2006 race details.
Road Racing/Cicloturista
Road racing in Andalucia is different. Most of the races are financially
supported by the local councils taking the pressure off cycling
clubs. They are well organised and well supported by riders and
the local
people who will line the streets in towns to cheer on the riders.
Spain is a cycling
nation after all! Generally speaking, the races are held in warm
and sunny conditions which only adds to the spectacle.
Cicloturistas are similar to the French randonee, this is an
open race for all categories and abilities. What that means in
practice
is that the
first fifty race and the rest enjoy riding in an organised event.
It is very popular in Spain and very well attended.
Mountain Biking Cross Country/Enduro
There are numerous cross country series run in Andalucia. The
race season starts at the end of January and runs through to
July.
The Enduro season begins in Spring and after a break for the
summer months starts up again in September and runs through
to November.
It’s
a very popular way to enjoy a day in the saddle especially
in the Autumn when most of Europe is freezing you can ride
in the sunshine in Spain.
