Road Racing/Cicloturista
Road racing in Andalucia is different. Most of the races are financially supported by the local councils taking the pressure off cycling clubs. They are well organised and well supported by riders and the local people who will line the streets in towns to cheer on the riders. Spain is a cycling nation after all! Generally speaking, the races are held in warm and sunny conditions which only adds to the spectacle.
Cicloturistas are similar to the French randonee, this is an open race for all categories and abilities. What that means in practice is that the first fifty race and the rest enjoy riding in an organised event. It is very popular in Spain and very well attended.

Mountain Biking Cross Country/Enduro
There are numerous cross country series run in Andalucia. The race season starts at the end of January and runs through to July.
The Enduro season begins in Spring and after a break for the summer months starts up again in September and runs through to November. It’s a very popular way to enjoy a day in the saddle especially in the Autumn when most of Europe is freezing you can ride in the sunshine in Spain.
